OUTPUT SHAFT

THERE ARE MANY VARIATIONS FROM THE FACTORY WITH THE OUTPUT SHAFT.

1962 TO 1965 THE SHAFT HAD A BOLT ON FLANGE ON THE REAR, TO ATTACH THE DRIVE FLANGE FOR THE PROP SHAFT.

FROM 1966 THE TRADITIONAL SLIP ON YOKE WAS EMPLOYED.

VARIOUS LENGTHS HAVE BEEN EMPLOYED. SHORT, LONG AND A FEW FOR 4 WHEEL DRIVE APPLICATIONS.

IN GENERAL THE SHAFT LENGTH SHOULD BE MATED TO AN APPROPRIATE LENGTH TAIL HOUSING.

IN 1967 A HD OUTPUT SHAFT WAS INTRODUCED. THE HEAT-TREAT COLOR IS DARKER AND IT HAD YELLOW PAINT ON THE REAR SPLINES

IN 1968 A SECOND 1/8” HOLE WAS ADDED BETWEEN THE SUN GEAR JOURNALS.
