STOPPING EXPLOSIONS

THE FOLLOWING MODIFICATIONS CAN BE CARRIED OUT TO STOP CATASTROPHIC EXPLOSIONS

THE FIRST MODIFICATION IS TO REMOVE THE STANDARD ONE WAY SPRAG AND REPLACE IT WITH A MODIFIED VERSION THAT IS ALSO BOLTED IN. THE BOLTS ARE LONGER VERSIONS OF THOSE USED TO BOLT THE REAR SHAFT SUPPORT ONTO THE REAR OF THE MAIN CASE.

THE BOLTS PASS THROUGH THE MAIN CASING INTO THE SPRAG OUTER RACE.

A HD VERSION IS AVAILABLE THAT USES 16 ROLLERS,(12 IS STANDARD) AND 6 BOLTS FOR SEVERE RACE CONDITIONS

THE SECOND MODIFICATION EMPLOYS A MODIFIED VALVE BODY THAT APPLIES THE REAR BAND IN 1ST GEAR. WITH THE BAND APPLIED ON THE REAR DRUM, THE SPRAG IS BACKED UP AND FURTHER PROTECTED.

THE THIRD METHOD IS TO USE A BILLET ALUMINIUM OR STEEL FRONT DRUM THAT CAN SURVIVE IF THE SPRAG DOES FAIL. SOME OF THESE  DRUMS CAN SURVIVE SPINNING UP TO 32000 RPM
